Description

Participants on this tour will get an inside look at the manufacture of tile and the safety efforts integrated into the process.  Participants will see a start to finish process including mixing and grinding clays, forming, drying, glazing and firing the tile and packaging it for distribution. The tour will include safety success stories in the journey of major culture change in an incipient stage.

DFW International Airport - Department of Public Safety - Fire Burn

Description

Since 1995, the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport's Fire Training Research Center (FTRC) has provided groundbreaking Aircraft Rescue Firefighting and structural training services in an innovative learning environment. Tour participants will experience both the classroom environment as well as a close up look at the specialized equipment used in aircraft emergency response and training. Texas Instruments - RFAB Facility

Description

Participants will tour a 300 mm analog semiconductor manufacturing facility, including a window tour of the fabrication facility and a walking tour of the LEED Gold certified Admin Building, support floor, and chemical/gas delivery rooms, with a focus on LEED-certified construction and safety features of the facility.

Participants in this tour will view the inner workings of this ultra-precision machine shop, with full turnkey operations in manufacturing. Raytheon Precision Manufacturing provides a complete range of metal fabrication services from manufacturing, fabrication and process engineering through machining, finishing, vacuum brazing and mechanical assembly. With a renowned technical staff that has an average on-time score of 99.7% for customer delivery, the shop excels in precision finishing and assemblies for Mechanical, Coordinate Measuring - Metal, Metal Fab- Chemical Finishing, Metal Fab- Painting, Metal Fab- Turning, Metal Fab- Welding, Metal Fab-Machining, and SteroLithography. This facility is an OSHA Voluntary Protection Program Star Site.

Participants on this tour will visit Mary Kay’s manufacturing and research and development facility which will be celebrating in 2015 its achievement of 20 years as an OSHA VPP Star Worksite. The facility runs 24 hours a day, 6 days a week with over 600 employees and achieved a one year recordable incident free in 2014 with employees who believe Safety Starts with Me!

DFW Terminal Renewal and Improvement Program

Description

DFW Airport is in the middle of a major Terminal Renewal and Improvement program (TRIP) to be completed in 2020. Efforts focus on replacing infrastructure and making more efficient parking, check-in and locating luggage. Attendees will view Terminal A which is under construction while the rest of Terminal remains open to the public. The tour will showcase construction, the finished product and additional products to include the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Train Station and Terminal A parking garage.

Requirements

Hard soled shoes are required. No tennis shoes, high heels or open toed/heeled shoes permitted. Shoes must cover entire foot. Long pants required. No capris or shorts permitted. Shirts must have at least 2" sleeves. Safety vest, hardhat and safety glasses will be provided. Cameras and video recording devices will be permitted.
